April Newsletter 2023
This year has started off with a bang! Since we re-opened on the 3rd of January after a short Christmas break, we have not stopped. With the Supercars season in full swing, we are proud to be working with some great teams such as Nulon Racing, Erebus Motorsport, Matt Stone Racing, Team 18, Triple Eight Race Engineering (GT Series) and in the coming weeks Walkinshaw Andretti United. We cannot wait to share more of that Motorsport content with you.
Like always, D2N takes up most of our time as a business and a family, so the quick demand to push out products and solutions has kept us on our toes! Stock shortages remain an issue as long lead times become the new normal. We are working with our suppliers and team to lessen the issue, but it still proves difficult.
Our team has some fantastic events that we will participate in throughout the year, starting with Jason attending the global Hytera conference in Bali this May. Later in the year Jason and Mackenzie will be attending IBC 2023 in Amsterdam for a change of scenery!
Overall, 2023 is looking to have heaps of potential for us as a business, and we can’t wait to share further the exciting projects we are working on in the background!
Thank you from the D2N family 🙂

Out Of Office hours:
For customers who require out-of-hours support, we have two options. A paid annual Service Level Agreement (SLA) or a ‘pay as you go’ model. SLAs are priced based on the value of the sale and the level of support you require. Pay as you go is charged as a two-hour minimum at $125.00 EX per hour and then billed in 15-minute increments of $31.25 EX until the matter is resolved. Response times are not guaranteed for pay-as-you-go, if you require a quick response, an SLA is what we propose you to consider.
All service calls should be logged via the form on this page; please do not call staff directly on weekends. We have people on a rotating roster to take calls on weekends and at night. We want to ask you to respect their downtime as well.

Just so you know, we offer free support during office hours for all our products and services.
Staff update:
First, we welcome John Craig who joins us as the new Rentals and Warehouse Manager. John’s electro-mechanical engineering background will add another layer of depth and experience to our team. Great to have you on board, John!
He can be contacted via john.craig@d2n.com.au
Brand Update:
We have a new brand coming on board in the next month or so. PunQtum by Riedel will be stocked as an item you can order online for simple solutions or via our sales team for more integrated solutions. PunQtum has a two-channel wired belt pack and 1RU four-channel intercom panel with more to come in both product and connectivity!
As long-term resellers of the entire Riedel range, we expect this to be a popular seller in the party line space and is priced accordingly!
Product Update:
Also in product land, Hytera has a new product coming to market with PoC, portables, mobiles, and repeaters all landing in the coming months. Motorola has discontinued its DP4000 range leaving the R7 as its premium product. AIDA has around ten new cameras and lenses coming to market over the next two months. TVU is launching it’s new ‘All in One’ at NAB this month. Tait has also released their new multiband P25, DMR, and analog radio with the TP9800. Reach out to our sales team if you would like more information!
We also have a range of pre-built Motorsport packages on our website.

Sales Update:
Our sales figures are quite strong as we head into the last quarter of the financial year. Some major projects with Triple Eight Race Engineering, Walkinshaw Andretti United, Team 18, and Erebus Motorsport now have us supporting over half the Supercars grid with managed technology solutions. Two medium-sized projects with Calrec Brio consoles are also underway, with the commissioning of multiple Calrec Argo SMPTE 2110 consoles and an Artemis 2110 installation here in Sydney. Our presence in the NRL has also grown to four teams supported by managed solutions. We have also delivered multiple Rf over Fibre systems into the University and Mining markets. Lastly, we recently completed a new studio build for Picklebet (https://picklebet.com/), and new betting and wagering company focusing on online gaming.
Rentals Update:
Our rentals team has been super busy with the start of the sporting season for Supercars, GT, NRL, and AFL along with the ongoing support of our regular AV/Production customers. We have added more Bolero, Hytera, and GreenGO to the fleet along with a batch of Pliant SmartBoom PRO headsets.
If you have not tried these Pliant units, you are missing out! Super comfortable and great audio quality. Netgear AV and Luminex switches now also grace our shelves in rentals available either for dry hire or as part of our rental solutions. We have a few mixing consoles available for hire now with the Calrec Brio and A&H SQ-5. Lastly are now working alongside Motorola Solutions providing the intercom integration on their larger two-way radio rental projects. For this, we have built up racks of four mobiles to a single antenna combiner and audio/PTT patching. (Note we have these with Hytera radios as well).
MD’s report:
On a personal level, I have been focused on systems and process’s whilst trying to keep up with sales quotes and delivery. My life is very fast paced, and I rarely slow down, however when I do its generally to spend time with friends and family. Over the last couple of years I have also enjoyed being part of the Oakville Rural Fire Service Brigade. Like D2N, we are an extremely busy brigade with four trucks covering near on 200 jobs a year. The team are great, very supportive and it gives me a place to go and do something aside from work and also give back to the community.
I feel quite blessed to have such great people in my life.
