The CEDAR SE1 is a compact two-channel speech enhancer designed for surveillance, security and rapid-response applications where improving speech intelligibility in difficult listening conditions is critical.

Positioned between the audio source and monitoring headphones, the SE1 combines advanced noise suppression with dynamic speech enhancement to make challenging live audio easier to hear and understand. Its noise suppression technology is derived from CEDAR’s FNR forensic noise reduction system, while a second dynamic enhancement process further reveals speech and incorporates limiting to prevent clipping caused by sudden loud sounds.

The SE1 supports flexible field workflows, including monitoring two microphones, allowing two listeners to monitor separate sources, or generating both untreated and enhanced versions of a single source. Analogue and digital connectivity makes integration with existing equipment straightforward, while two independent headphone outputs support direct live monitoring.

motorsport
With minimal latency, straightforward controls and 12 V operation for mains or battery-powered use, the SE1 is particularly suited to surveillance, investigation, transcription and other applications requiring clearer real-time speech in adverse audio conditions.

FAQs

What does the CEDAR SE1 do?
The CEDAR SE1 enhances live speech to make difficult audio clearer and more intelligible. It combines advanced noise suppression based on CEDAR’s FNR forensic technology with dynamic speech enhancement, helping operators monitor speech captured in challenging environments.

How many audio channels does the CEDAR SE1 process?
The CEDAR SE1 provides two channels of speech enhancement. This allows it to support workflows such as monitoring two microphones or enabling two listeners to monitor separate audio sources.

Can the CEDAR SE1 provide both original and enhanced audio?
Yes. A single source can be processed so that both the untreated audio and filtered audio are available. This can be valuable in investigative or evidential workflows where listeners need access to both the original and enhanced signal.

Is the CEDAR SE1 suitable for surveillance applications?
Yes. CEDAR specifically designed the SE1 for applications including covert surveillance and rapid tactical response. Its compact format, minimal latency, simple controls and 12 V powering make it suited to operation in the field.

Does the CEDAR SE1 have headphone outputs?
Yes. The SE1 has two independent headphone outputs, allowing live audio to be monitored directly from the unit.

Can the CEDAR SE1 operate from a battery?
Yes. The SE1 has a 12 V power input designed to support mains or battery operation, making it practical for portable field applications.
