RF over Fibre can be deployed to extend the coverage of a two way radio system where copper runs are either not cost effective, unable to be run and there is already fibre in place, or for a new installation where you want to improve the engineering of the radio system from day one.
Our base models operate up to 2.5GHz so well and truly cover the VHF and UHF LMR bands. We can provide them as stand-alone units or as part of an integrated solution which might include combining, receive multi-coupling, filters, duplexers or all of the above. We have designed systems that cater to simplex and duplex operation across multiple bands.
Some of our two-way radio customers include Broadcasters, Defence, various Mine site facilities companies, Construction companies and large Stadiums. We believe that as existing sites reach end of life, or require new RF cable runs, RF over Fibre should be considered as it offers many advantages when compared to pulling in copper runs.
For mine sites where radio bases are housed onsite and long runs are required to fee leaky coax in the physical mine shafts, RF over Fibre can be used to replace those initial long runs and interface with you leaky and remote RF PA’s. Our modules do have the option of SNMP reporting so alarms can be setup to trigger if the fibre is damaged or a VSWR fault is detected.
Some of the radio manufacturers we have interfaced to include Hytera, Motorola, Kenwood, Simoco, TAIT and ICOM, so regardless of what radio platform you are running we can design an RF over Fibre solution to suit your needs.
